Sajaya announces online Ramadan contest

Skills-Talents

The wide range of competition categories focuses on artistry, skill and talent.

Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah (Sajaya), an affiliate of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, has announced the launch of a carefully curated programme of e-activities to mark the start of its annual competitions during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Adhering to the UAE government’s #StayHome guidelines and demonstrating its resilience in the wake of a global public health crisis, the Sajaya Ramadan Competition has gone virtual to ensure maximum audience engagement and to boost creativity amongst participants. The wide range of competition categories focuses on artistry, skill, and talent, and can safely be attempted in the confines of one’s home.

The announcement of each competition will be accompanied by a video posted on Instagram @sajaya_shj explaining the guidelines, criteria, registration details, and other specific conditions for participation. The first 10 registered entries are eligible to participate in each competition, and they will be guided by a team of four Sajaya members.

Participants are given two days to submit their work online. Winners will be chosen based on highest number of votes cast by an online audience. Select winners will also receive sponsored gifts from Al Abqary store.

The Sajaya Ramadan competitions target 13-18-year-olds, and participants can DM their files on Instagram @sajaya_shj.

Here are the Sajaya Ramadan Competition categories.

Cup Art: Transform the blank contours of a conventional disposable coffee cup into a complex, subtle or sublime work of art with the use of just one colour.

Table Styling: Add some earthy touches, a dash of gold and sparkle, and light up your table in traditional or contemporary tones inspired by the spirit of Ramadan. Create an impression in stylish flair using recycled materials only.

Ramadan Cookie: Dress up your perfectly soft and chewy Ramadan cookies in an infinite spectrum of creative designs using different toppings, colours and icing for that right festive touch.

Stop Motion: Get creative with your animation skills using household objects such as papers, colours and a scissor. The winning short video will be published on @sajaya_shj as an Eid Al Fitr greeting.

Every talent seeks expression, and the Instagram Live Talents is a creative platform for Sajaya members to reveal their hidden talents. Every week, one Sajaya member will highlight her creative talents in portrait painting, fitness, doodle art and digital art on @sajaya_shj.
