The Sharjah Criminal Court adjourned to Feb.25 to listen to witnesses in a case involving an Asian national.

The case dates back to 2010.

He was charged with falsifying documents and was sentenced in absentia to 3 years in jail, after leaving the country.

In court, the suspect denied any act of forgery and that he had no knowledge of it.

He stressed that he was working in the UAE until 2010, and was not charged in any case. He was not even investigated by any authority, he added.

He asserted he had recently arrived in the country after 10 years, on a visit visa for trade, and was arrested.
