Sharjah Civil Defence douse fire in car in record time

The Sharjah Civil Defence teams brought under control a fire that erupted in a car while stopping near a residential tower in Al Taawun area, Sharjah on Thursday evening.

The operations room at the Civil Defence Department received a call from the public at 4.50pm on Thursday that a small private car had burst into flames. Civil Defence vehicles rushed to the scene of the fire together with a police patrol to control traffic.

The Civil Defence men put out out the flames within minutes, preventing it from spreading to other vehicles.

In December, a fire broke out in a car in the Al Khan area of Sharjah. The Sharjah Police and Civil Defence team members doused the blaze.

The Sharjah Police operation room received an information about a fire incident in Al Khan.  Police patrols and ambulances were dispatched to the site.

A witness said the car suddenly erupted in flames.

The incident happened in the vicinity of Al Khaleej and Gulf Today newspapers’ offices.

Traffic was moving at a slow pace near and around the Al Khan Bridge. But the police cleared off the congestion.
