Minor girl raped inside US embassy in Delhi: Report

In Delhi, there have been an increasing number of cases involving rape of minor girls. In July last year, the Supreme Court in Delhi mentioned there were 729 cases of child rape and sexual assault on minors, or at least four cases every day.

In the latest incident, a five-year-old girl has been raped inside the American embassy in Delhi, according to an Indian TV news channel.

The victim is the daughter of a housekeeping staffer, while the accused is a driver who is not employed by the embassy. The driver has been arrested and sent to judicial custody, according to the TV channel.

The girl was reportedly lured by the driver and raped on Saturday morning. Her family lodged a complaint with the Chanakyapuri police.
