Fathers booked for getting their sons' heads shaved

Two boys in Pakistan’s eastern district of Faisalabad got a case registered against their fathers who got their heads and eyebrows shaved as a punishment for allegedly stealing money from their homes.

Submitting an application to Chak Jhumra police, Farman Ali,16, said his father Basharat Ali, along with Ikram, the father of his friend, Danish, got their eyebrows and heads shaved, alleging they had stolen Rs50,000 from their homes.

He said their fathers took both of them to the barber’s shop, where Akhtar Ali, forcibly shaved their heads and eyebrows.

On their complaint, the police registered a case under sections 34, 337-V and 355 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against Basharat, Ikram and Akhtar Ali.

Basharat and Ikram, both residents of Chak 163-RB, are in police custody.

The police said the case was registered after the complainants produced medico-legal certificates.
