Three workers got injured after being attacked by a raging bull that had escaped from a farm in Al Ain.
The bull fled towards a residential area and settled there for two days, spreading fear and panic its residents. After owners found the bull, three of the workers attempted to control and contain the raging animal, but were attacked by it.
The workers sustained minor to moderate injuries from the sudden attack, and were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital.
Sultan Khalifa Al Kaabi, a veterinarian at the Animal Health Centre of Al Ain Zoo, stated that a call was received by the Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain, to report about a raging bull. Due to the big size and aggressiveness of the bull, the workers failed to contain the animal repeatedly.
Afterwards, another veterinarian stepped in to help arrange a safe anesthesia equipment to contain the situation and control the bull, without causing any harm to it.
High skills and professionalism were used to calm the bull, then it was taken directly to its owner’s farm. Medical treatment was also provided for the bull that also sustained injuries from attacking the workers.
Al Kaabi stressed that the Veterinary Services Department of the General Establishment for the Zoo and Aquariums in Al Ain, always provide necessary help to sustain animal wealth. He finally urged farm owners to install stronger and more advanced protection fences to avoid the occurring of such situations, and maintain safety of their animals and people around.
Recently, an Emirati, Faisal Abdullah Mohammed Al Haisoum, 40, succumbed to his injuries after spending around three days in the hospital. The deceased had a traffic accident last Friday after visiting the grave of his mother, who died at the end of Nov 2019.
Al Haisoum was paid the last respects in Julphar area in Ras Al Khaimah and was buried in Al Hudaiba graveyard after the funeral prayers were performed after Zohr prayers on Tuesday.
