In a bizarre incident, a number of Executive Directors of a Chinese company, were forced to crawl on their knees as a way of expressing guilt and taking full responsibility, after failing to achieve the company’s objectives.

It is believed that the company is located in Changchun, the northeastern Chinese province.

A video of the incident went viral and was shared by millions of users of Weibo application, and was published by the British newspaper, Daily Mail.

Reports say that the executives, who failed to achieve the annual sales target, have chosen such punishment for themselves, and crawled on their hands and knees for three rounds during the company’s annual ceremony.

The video caused an online stir, with the Chinese questioning the severity of the public punishment; especially that a similar incident had occurred last year in Zhengzhou, and was used for the promotion of a company.

However, local police confirmed that it was a ploy by the staff, and the company issued a public apology to the people.
