Germany honours Sharjah Municipality

Mena Water, a member of Huber German technical solutions company, honoured Sharjah Municipality on its project for sustainable water treatment solutions during crises and floods.

Sharjah Municipality delegation to Germany included Hassan Al Tafaq, Assistant General Director for Agriculture and Environment Sector; and Engineer Adel Al Mazmi, member of SAME team.

Thabit Salim Al-Turaifi, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality stressed that the project was accomplished by the SAME Team which consists of a number of creative Emirati youth from the Agriculture and Environment Sector, reflecting the keenness of the Municipality employees to provide creative and innovative services.

Recently, a Sharjah Municipality delegation headed by Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Director-General of the customer service sector at Sharjah Municipality, visited the Netherlands to learn about the best practices adopted to monitor public parking, and mechanisms of operating digital scanning vehicles.

The delegation visited a number of municipalities in the Netherlands to become acquainted with the best practices in municipal work, in keeping with the Sharjah Municipality’s keenness to develop its work system.

Recently, the Sharjah Municipality reviewed the best international practices and techniques in wastewater treatment during a visit by a delegation from the municipality headed by Hassan Al Tafaq, Assistant Director-General of the Agriculture and Environment Sector, to Chicago, USA.

The delegation was in Chicago to attend the Energy and Water Conference, which is organised annually to showcase the latest developments and technologies in the fields of water and energy industries, wastewater treatment, and recycling.

Al Tafaq stressed that the municipality is keen to use the best techniques in treating wastewater and using stations with high efficiency and to be in the know of all that is new in this area and apply it in the working mechanism.

The municipal delegation visited Chicago to learn about the latest technologies, innovations and new equipment used in the field of municipal work in general and sanitation and waste in particular.

It was also aimed at learning about the new experiences of various companies in this area to study the possibility of their application at the Sharjah Municipality in accordance with international standards.

Recently, in conjunction with the Arab Document Day, Sharjah Municipality Saturday launched the Kunooz, a digital library as the first government agency in the emirate, which is considered a new model in archiving documents for reference at any time.
