The Dubai Police received a Dhs500,000 contribution from Al Ansari Exchange Company to inmates of the Dubai Correctional and Punitive Establishments.

Within the framework of cooperation on providing humanitarian assistance for incapable inmates, the Dubai Police has recently received a Dhs500,000 contribution from Al Ansari Exchange Company to inmates of the Dubai Correctional and Punitive Establishments.

The donation was received by Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, from Mohammad Ali Al Ansari, Chairman and Managing Director of Al Ansari Exchange Company and  Rashed Ali Al Ansari, General Manager of Al Ansari Exchange Company.

“We convey our thanks to Al Ansari Exchange Company for its efforts to establish social solidarity and contribute to the development and social objectives of the UAE. The donation will benefit the inmates in paying off their debts, Diyāt, children education fees, as well as their families’ house rents”, Al Shamali said.  

“This donation comes as a result of the fruitful cooperation and collaboration with the Dubai Police in different areas to spread happiness among the society members”, he added.

From his part, Mohammed Al Ansari stressed that this humanitarian aid is part of a series of initiatives that the company is carrying out, based on its belief that helping others is a national duty, in which we return the favor to the country and society.

 “Dubai Police is a pioneer in launching humanitarian initiatives and financially helping the people in need, he added.

Dubai Police has extended some financial and in-kind assistance to the inmates worth Dhs 815,942 during the third quarter of this year, bringing the total aid to Dhs5,463,586 in nine months, according to a report by the Humanitarian Care Department of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments.

Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Shamali, Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, said that the Dubai Police is always keen to meet the needs of the inmates annually in accordance with the international regulations. As it organizes a call for donations for inmates’ benefits, which are collected in the donation bank account and from donors, charities and philanthropists.

“The goal is not only to punish inmates but to reform and rehabilitate them in order to transition them back to the community, as well as enable them to support themselves and their families after serving their sentences,” Al Shamali added.
