Rashid students hosts cultural event

The event was attended by Sheikha Fatima Bint Hasher Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, Kuwaiti activist Mama Samira and educationist Dr Aisha Ali Al-Sayyar besides a large number of women.

Students from the Rashid Centre for People of Determination organised a day-long event to present the UAE cultural and traditional artifacts they made and to express their love towards the UAE.

The event was attended by Sheikha Fatima Bint Hasher Bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, Kuwaiti activist Mama Samira and educationist Dr Aisha Ali Al-Sayyar besides a large number of women from different backgrounds.

The cultural occasion remembered Obeid Al Helou, a prominent patron of the centre as well as known humanitarian, and began with the word of Maryam Othman, the Director of the Rashid Center, who said, “We meet today to spend beautiful time in which we remember the giving of a man who left behind unforgettable fingerprints, an indelible gift and ongoing alms that will remain until God inherits the land and those on it.”

She pointed that the management of the centre has named religious section of the centre on the name of late Obeid Al Helou, and in it the children learn and memorize the Holy Quran while a rehabilitation training centre also bearing the name of the late Obeid Al Helou to remain a running charity for his soul.

The late Obeid Al Helou was known for his humanitarian work and extended support for the needy people all over the country.

Maryam Othman welcomed the social activist and said, “Mama Samira, who is active in media and humanitarian work in the Gulf, accompanies us today, and in her package is a bundle of interesting topics that concern women and affect her life and essence. Dr. Aisha Ali Al-Sayyar is undoubtedly an Emirati icon in the field of education. She is one of the first Emirati women who lit the candles of science in the homeland space, to continue her career until she got a doctorate to form a solid foundation for the education of women.”

The students through the event offered hospitality towards the attendees with healthy dishes and delicious baked goods and showcased their talents in various fields.
