Brigadier Abdulaziz Ali Al Shamsi, Director General of Ajman Civil Defence, honoured two women in Ajman for saving the life of two building cleaners and preventing any tragic incidents. Among the attendees were Lieutenant Col. Raed Obaid Al Zaabi, Director of Centres Department at Ajman Civil Defence, and the Representative of General Consulate of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Maryam Nabaty and Leila Dawoud, did not hesitate to rush and save the two cleaners after noticing that the two workers were stuck in the scaffolding of a tower in Ajman. The windy weather caused the scaffolding to swing on a high altitude, putting the workers’ life in danger.

The courageous women witnessed the incident from their 9th floor apartment, and quickly rushed to grab hold of the scaffolding’s wire until Civil Defence team arrived to the scene and professionally handled the situation.

Brig. Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, praised the courage of the women and their sense of responsibility towards the UAE community. He also admired their quick thinking and action of saving the two cleaners.

However, Brig. Al Shamsi urged owners of cleaning services companies to take all security measures and follow safety precautions to prevent the occurring of such tragic accidents in the future.

Separately, City Centre Ajman is celebrating an important milestone with the completion of its multi-phase redevelopment with the estimated cost of Dhs643 million. This sees the mall transform from a community centre to a regional shopping and lifestyle destination housing a diverse mix of 130 international brands and restaurants.

The second stage has seen the mall refine its offering and diversify its retail mix to include a dedicated home category, much-loved fashion and lifestyle brands and all-new dining offerings.

As part of an ongoing Dhs643 million enhancement project, the redevelopment offers visitors with an upgraded shopping and leisure destination as part of Majid Al Futtaim’s continued efforts to evolve its customer journey and experiences. The improvement has also seen finishing touches added to the new wing as well as the enhancement of public areas and mall facilities.
