Emirates CEO and Chairman Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum said this order replaces an agreement for 150 777x Boeing to 126 of that aircraft, and adds 30 of the 787-9 Dreamliners. He spoke to reporters at the Dubai Airshow.
Sheikh Mohammed said, “The Dubai International Aviation Exhibition in the UAE is growing up in size and space. For us, success means that we have a race against time. Because the UAE is at a rapid pace, we have to think about the future.”
The five-day event in the UAE is the industry's first large gathering since Covid-19 clipped the sector's wings last year, when border closures left airports deserted and hundreds of aircraft idle.
