Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed attends the funeral of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, Sheikhs, and large crowd this afternoon performed funeral prayers on the body of the late H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, at the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed The First Mosque in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi.
He was laid to rest in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed was the brother to the UAE president, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He served as the UAE President's Representative.
Condolences will received at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday after Asr prayer until Maghrib. While on Thursday and Friday timings for condolences will be from 10:00am to until Maghrib prayer.
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has condoled the death of his brother Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President's Representative, who passed away on Monday.
At the directives of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the UAE will observe an official mourning period of three days with the flag to be flown at half-mast.
In the statement, the Ministry prays to Allah the Almighty to rest his soul in peace, and grant Al Nahyan's Family all patience and solace.
The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, offered his condolences on the death of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, “My condolences to the people of the UAE and the Al Nahyan family on the death of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan... The sons of Zayed have eternal fingerprints in the UAE... The sons of Zayed have a different love in the heart of every Emirati… They will always be remembered for their great role in the foundation of the UAE. We ask Allah Almighty to grant patience and solace to his family.”

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “Today, I lost my brother…, lost one of the loyal men and a national symbol of the UAE. He worked with the founding father to structure the foundations of the union. He gave all his life in serving the UAE and its people. May Allah Almighty grant him a place in paradise.”
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain and His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, have mourned the death of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Representative of His Highness the President of the UAE, who passed away on Monday.
Their Highnesses expressed their deepest regret with loss of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed.
They extended their sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and to the family the deceased.
They prayed to Almighty Allah to grant patience and solace to his family, and a place from him in paradise.
The General Directorate of Sharjah Police extends its deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed and the Al Nahyan family on the the death of Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of His Highness the President of the UAE.
Sharjah Police asked Allah Almighty grant mercy and forgiveness and a place in paradise.
Sheikh Sultan is the second son of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE. Sheikh Sultan, who was born in Al Ain in 1955, was educated at Millfield School and is a graduate of Sandhurst military academy.
In 1990, Sheikh Sultan was appointed as deputy prime minister and was later appointed the President's Representative until his death.
During the three-day official mourning period, flags will be flown at half-mast while regular radio programmes will be replaced with Quran recitation.

It said, “ENOC extends its sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on the passing of his brother Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; our prayers and thoughts are with the family.”
