The committee overseeing the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah invites entries for the Sharjah Innovation Award. Guidelines for registration, which is open till Jan.2, 2020 were released on Sunday.

The Sharjah Innovation Award is worth Dhs100,000, of which Dhs50,000 will be awarded to the first winner, Dhs30,000 to the second and  Dhs20,000 to the third winner.

The upcoming edition of the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah is scheduled to be held from Feb.8-14, 2020. Registration will be open from Nov.24 to Jan.2, 2020 and participating entities will be announced on Jan.30, 2020.

Ahmed Saif Bin Saed, member of the committee overseeing the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah, gave a detailed presentation on the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah, clarifying the criteria for evaluating government initiatives that target the different segments of society.

The meeting stressed the importance of the creative element in projects participating in the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah, as well as other elements, including saving money, time and effort.

Saeed Al Hammadi, member of the committee overseeing the UAE Innovation Month in Sharjah, highlighted the mechanisms, categories and criteria of the Sharjah Innovation Award, which seeks to empower innovation as a way of life towards the achievement of comprehensive, sustainable development.

The Award also aims to consolidate the concept of innovation, develop creative solutions to address challenges, economise on human potential and material resources, and encourage Sharjah citizens and residents to put forward creative ideas and innovations.

The Award targets students of Sharjah’s academic institutions, employees of government, semi-government and private departments and holders of Sharjah family books.

Finalists for the Award will be revealed on Jan.30, 2020, while winners will be announced on Feb.13, 2020.
