VIDEO: ‘We learn from China,’ Sheikh Mohammed says in interview with Chinese channel

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, appeared on China’s news network China Central Television (CCTV). The TV conducted a detailed interview with Dubai Ruler on his vision of the UAE and relations with China.
During the interview, Sheikh Mohammed said, “We are the sons of this desert where we lived... We are tribes who came from the desert. The desert is a treasure, beginning to set off to fulfill our hopes and a station for meditation. For some, the desert is arduous and dangerous, but for us we know it well and see everything and we learn a lot from it.”
Sheikh Mohammed said, “I saw, China is fast in construction, education, civilization and technology, and this is what we benefit from and learn from it, and there are many points of convergence between the two countries, which is why we take China as an example and learn from it.
“I respect the President of China, I met with him more than once, and I see in him a remarkable example of leadership, I wish some leaders learn from him…”
“Expo 2010 organized by China was excellent... We have learned from it... Having learned from Expo 2010 in Shanghai, we promised the world that Expo 2020 will be the best in the world and there will be many surprises. I invite you and all the Chinese people to visit Expo 2020,” Sheikh Mohammed said during the interview.
Last month, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance, inaugurated the Conference of Dialogue between Arab and Chinese Civilisations in Abu Dhabi, which handles many intellectual, knowledge and historical issues that attract the attention of the Arab and Chinese sides.
This conference was organised by the Ministry of Tolerance in cooperation with the Confucian International Association. The event saw a large number of international figures, intellectuals and officials from the Arab and Chinese sides.
