Two people were killed in an accident that took place on Sharjah-Khorfakkan road on Thursday.
An Emirati driver ran over an Asian after he lost control of his vehicle due to over speeding. The vehicle veered off the road and hit the Asian.
Emirati driver died on the spot whereas the Asian succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
A call was received by the Operations Room of Khorfakkan Police around 8:20 am about the accident, after which police patrols and ambulances rushed to the scene.
The Sharjah Police General Directorate urged all drivers to abide by the speed limits of roads, especially in tunnels or turns, besides being fully alert while driving in order to prevent such tragic accidents.
Munira Omar was 32 when she was injured in a road traffic accident in 1991 after picking up her son Omar from school in the city of Al-Ain.
The deceased was paid the last honours in Julphar area in Ras Al Khaimah and was buried in Al Hudaiba graveyard after the funeral prayers were performed after Zohr prayers on Tuesday.
