An Asian child, 9, on Monday sustained serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle while walking along a public road in Al Naba’ah in Sharjah on his way back from school.
According to the official records, the operations room at Sharjah Police General Headquarters received a report at 2:26pm on Monday that an Asian child was hit by a vehicle driven by an Asian while walking along the pavement of a public road on his way back from school.
Traffic patrols and national ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident to find that the child was seriously injured.
The child was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital at around 2:56pm. Preliminary examinations showed that the child sustained fractures in the leg bone as well as wounds and bruises in various parts of his body and would possibly need plastic surgery after his foot tissues had been damaged.
The police initiated investigations into the accident.
