The Fujairah Criminal Court heard the case of four young Arabs charged with attempted theft, drinking and possession of alcohol.
Details of the case date back to when the suspects went to Fujairah from Dubai to spend the weekend with a carton full of bottles of wine. They reportedly rented an apartment where they spent the night and drank alcohol.
At midnight, the first suspect thought of robbing a jewellery store opposite the building they stayed in and agreed with his friends to carry out the crime. The suspects headed to the store and broke its door with a piece of iron trying to break into it, but a passerby saw them and immediately contacted the police. The police rushed to the place and arrested them.
All of them turned out to be drunk and were referred to the prosecution, where they were charged with attempted theft, drinking and possession of alcohol.
In another event, The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal on Wednesday heard a case in which three Asians were charged with offering a bribe to an employee working in a petrol station of a petroleum company.
The court decided to adjourn the hearing till Tuesday, September 24th.
According to the official records, the three defendants offered a sum of money to an employee working in a petrol station for issuing specific receipts and bills that the defendants would benefit from in the entity they were working for.
During the court session, two of the defendants denied the charge levelled to them, while the third confessed to having offered a bribe to the employee while at work and asked the court for mercy. The lawyer of the first and second defendants requested that the case be adjourned so that he can present his defence.
Recently, a Gulf youth was charged with impersonating a policeman, blackmailing and drinking alcoholic beverages, the Fujairah Misdemeanour Court heard in a session.
According to the official records, the defendant chased a truck driver and ordered him to stop after claiming to be a policeman.
The Fujairah Misdemeanors Court has heard four different cases related to the use and possession of drugs and violation of regular examination procedures and rules.
The Criminal Court of Abu Dhabi on Tuesday looked into the case of a European woman accused of drinking alcohol without a license and beating up a cop who was trying to arrest her. She allegedly caused damages to the rear of the police patrol vehicle, in addition to breaking its glass, the Court heard.
The Fujairah Court of Cassation on Tuesday looked into the case in which five Africans, including two women were accused of adultery, other indecent acts and abuse of alcohol.

The accused woman has been identified as Kiran Singh, a resident of Noida and a native of Agra.
