Sudan's army rulers and protest leaders inked on Sunday an accord on a constitutional declaration that would usher a long-awaited transition to civilian rule.
Protest leader Ahmed Rabie and the deputy head of the ruling military council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo signed the declaration, an AFP correspondent said, at a ceremony attended by African Union and Ethiopian mediators.
The two sides are due to put their final signatures on the constitutional declaration on Aug. 17, sources with knowledge of the negotiations told Reuters earlier on Sunday.
