The Canadian authorities have found a body similar to the specifications of the missing Saudi man Qasem Al Adawi. The authorities have started the verification process.
"The Canadian authorities have found a body with the similar measurements and marks. We have been informed and are waiting for the authorities to match the fingerprints and DNA,” Adawi’s relative said.Qasem Al Adawi with his children.
“The details have been sent to them by the US authorities to confirm the identity of the body," a section of the Saudi media reported.
It is believed that the undercurrent swept the body away to the Canadian side.
The US authorities have been searching for Qasem since he went missing after falling into the Niagara Falls on July 6.
Qasem had come to the US to study for a doctoral degree in business administration. He is from Al-Adaya in Sabia province, Jazan.
Qasem was with his family on a Niagara Falls tour around 8pm on Saturday when the incident took place.
Some passersby say they heard a distress call before the man’s disappearance.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry has directed its personnel to communicate with the family of the citizen and provide them care and housing.
The Niagara Falls incident has been trending on Twitter.
The young men realised there was a fire and children were trapped inside.
