An Imam, 31, in Ajman has been sentenced to five years in prison followed by deportation by the Ajman Criminal Court for molesting a 12-year-old boy.
According to a report, the accused works in a small mosque in A-Jarf 2 area in Ajman.
The victim was allegedly lured with money to the room of the accused.
The victim told about the assault to his mother after she confronted him for coming home late after prayers at the mosque.
According to the victim, the Imam gave him Dhs5 and took him to his room. The victim was allegedly assaulted about nine times.
Forensic report proved that the boy was assaulted multiple times.
The man used to lure the boy into his room after Isha prayers by offereing Dhs5 to him.
