Dr Tohama Berkdar, a pioneer in humanitarian work and recognised by the United Nations as Ambassador for Humanitarian Action along with her two children, Ali and Natalie extended full support to a group of orphan children of determination.

Ali and Natalie, the young children of Tohama Berkdar, put their idea into action to provide children with clothes, gifts and other necessary items.

As part of the event organised by Tohama Berkdar and her children, a number of fun-filled activities engaged all the children of the special needs centre.

At the end of the event, Dr Berkdar assured that she extended her full support to her children, Ali and Natali, to participate and to plant the most important humanitarian message through providing gifts and fulfilling the needs of deserving children in every segment of the society.

She stressed that what Ali and Natalie had donated was not enough to fulfil the duty of this initiative, but she supported the children’s attitudes and participated in supporting them materially to provide suitable gifts.

The Ambassador for Humanitarian Action said that the act to offer gifts and fulfil the needs of the children of the determination by her children at the special needs centre was not entirely to spend money. The most important message of the event was to understand the principle of participation and establish contact with the children of determination.

“Ali and Natalie packed gifts for each child as well as participated in the activities of singing with them. They also participated in different activities along with these children,” she said and also encouraged other parents to engage their young children in humanitarian activities from an early age so they became good citizens once they grow and play their role in their respective societies.

Recently,  in an exceptional ceremony, Rashid Centre for The Determined Ones organised a unique exhibition to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, during which remarkable traditional and handicraft products were displayed.
