The Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) has announced it is now accepting nominations for its 14th edition (the 2019-20 Awards).
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award, an initiative by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), is organising two panels in March as part of the Month of Reading to help promote a culture of reading in the UAE.
The Sheikh Zayed Book Award hosted last week a seminar entitled Building a Digital Ecosystem for Knowledge, exploring digital impact on the publishing sector.
The Reading Panel’s review process will be followed by an announcement of the Award’s long-list in November, paving the way for the second phase in which the Award’s jury will conduct a thorough literary review of all submissions.
Priority would be given to those who are registered in the Hajj electronic system and whose data have been previously updated.
"The FNC is confident that the UAE, under President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, will see a new era of achievements and development. The country will continue to be the nation of giving, tolerance, safety and security," Ghobash said.
The move, which will bring total available funding for projects over the next 15 months to $30 billion, was unveiled hours before a major United Nations meeting on global food security.
