DUBAI: The UAE is a country with equal opportunities for women in every sector and there are many who proved their extraordinary abilities in almost all fields. To pay tribute to such wonderful women, prominent Italian producer Benedetta Paravia has announced the launch of a brand new TV and Web series, Hi Dubai.

The launch event was attended by over 200 guests including members of the royal family, dignitaries, and showbiz celebrities at Gargash Alfa Romeo showroom in Dubai. The event was also attended by Sheikh Obaid Bin Suhail Bin Buti Al Maktoum along with actress and UN Ambassador Safia Al Emary and the Godmother of the series Madam Thoraya Al Awadhi, the protagonists, the partners, the sponsors and others.

The TV and Web series ‘Hi Dubai’ is part of “Hi Emirates” series, dedicated to the wise vision of Tolerance of the UAE, with the endorsement of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, the General Authority of Sports and Zayed University. It is an original English-spoken series, subtitled in Arabic and English, conceived as a vehicle of righteous and true promotion of the spirit of the UAE, unveiling women achievements, personalities, culture, opportunities, events and amusements in the city of Future.

Benedetta Paravia, the Italian producer of the series, told Gulf Today that the pre-production of ‘Hi Dubai’ started in the Year of Giving as a way to give back to the community and to the wise leadership of the UAE. The production was completed in the ‘Year of Zayed’ and was aired on Dubai One. The show was also available online on Dubai Post and Emirates 24/7.

Addressing on the occasion, Thoraya Al Awadhi said, “Hi Dubai, focuses on lifestyle of the Emirati and expat women in Dubai, the multicultural city where all civilizations of the world are perfectly mixed.”

Safia Al Emari, who is one of the protagonists of the series, said: “Women should support women and this is why we are all here this evening. Watch ‘Hi Dubai’ on Emirates Airline whenever you travel by Emirates flights.”

The 12 Emirati women protagonists are Aisha Saeed Harib, Suaad Mohammed Al Hammadi, Shamsaa al-Shamsi, Khadija Mustafa al-Yousuf, Suhaila Mubarak al-Wali, Khulood Mahmood al-Rais, Amina Al-Memari, Sara Khalifaal-Mubarak, Maryam Bartawi, the two sisters Sharifa and Samia Naser Yateem and the young Shahed Ahmad Kharam.
