‘Weight Control’ programme held for students

DUBAI: Hussain Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, praised the “Weight Control” programme for students around the UAE, which took place at the Umm Al Emarat Park, as part of the Health and Fitness Fun Festival organized by the Ministry of Education.

The programme was supervised by the Sports Department of Dubai Police Community Service. The aim was to shed light on the people of determination and encourage them to be part of the sports and social community to help them explore and enhance their abilities to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Brigadier Khalid Ali Shahil, Director General of the Community Welfare Department, stated that the Sports Department participated in the programme through the “Positive Spirit” initiative that took place in the Year of Tolerance, aiming to build a healthy and energetic society where individuals are concerned about their fitness. The event was attended by Aysha Al Siri, Director of Health and Physical Fitness (MoE), Dr Osama Kamel Al Lala, Physical Activity Consultant and a number of educational staff members and the students’ parents.
