The Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced that its public health centres in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have been awarded the prestigious international health accreditation certificate from the Joint Commission International (JCI).
This milestone marks the first time these 10 centres have received such recognition, which was granted after a thorough field audit conducted by a specialised committee to assess the quality of health and preventive services and their adherence to international standards.
Dr. Shamsa Majid Lootah, Director of the Public Health Department at the Emirates Health Services (EHS), emphasised that the EHS’s commitment to developing innovative solutions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, advancing public health outcomes, and improving customer satisfaction.
She said that the international health accreditation certificate from the Joint Commission International (JCI) represents a significant addition to the extensive achievements of public health centres, aligning with national strategies, the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision, and the ‘UAE Centennial 2071’. These initiatives collectively aim to improve quality of life and foster a sustainable and healthy future.
1.2 MILLION RESIDENCY TESTS: The public health centres under the Emirates Health Services conducted over 1.2 million residency examinations by December 2024, representing a 30% increase compared to previous years. This growth can be attributed to the enhancement of procedures and the adoption of digital technologies to streamline and improve the delivery of services.
The EHS has noted that residency examinations are now conducted through streamlined digital procedures. Customers can submit service requests via the website using their digital identity, eliminating the need for additional documentation. The system allows customers to select an examination centre and complete payment electronically.
Subsequently, they can visit the chosen centre during working hours to undergo the examination, including any required vaccinations, within a timeframe not exceeding 20 minutes.
To streamline the process for individuals and businesses, public health centres have introduced home testing services at facilities such as the Salah Al Din Medical Examination Centre for Residency and the Ibn Battuta Medical Examination Centre for Residency.
These services offer visitors the flexibility to undergo testing at a location and time of their convenience.
The centres also utilise state-of-the-art X-ray devices, enabling tests to be completed within seconds, and employ advanced laboratory technologies powered by artificial intelligence to ensure both the accuracy of results and their rapid delivery.
