GCC residents have an exclusive opportunity to learn about the United States golden visa by attending a complimentary seminar on Sunday, August 6 at 3pm. The seminar will be hosted at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina by The American Legal Center. Composed of an expert team of U.S. licensed lawyers and professionals with over a decade of experience, The American Legal Center is the leading firm in Dubai specializing in the EB-5 program, the U.S. golden visa equivalent.

What is the EB-5 program?

The EB-5 program offers an accelerated pathway to acquiring U.S. residency and, ultimately, citizenship. The program requires an investment of $800,000 in a qualifying project in the United States which must create or preserve a minimum of ten full-time jobs for U.S. persons. With this investment, an entire family including spouse and children under the age of 21 can obtain their own U.S. Green Cards, thereby unlocking the ability to freely live, travel, and work in the land of opportunities.

“For more than three decades since its inception in 1990, the EB-5 program has afforded numerous families the chance to reside and work in the United States, opening up new opportunities for them,” says Shai Zamanian, Legal Director of The American Legal Center.

Why is the EB-5 program popular?

Many families residing in the GCC are interested in this program given its lenient criteria. The program does not require applicants to have a certain level of education, work experience, or language skills. “We have successfully assisted hundreds of families in navigating the requirements of the program, which in short are to invest $800,000 in a qualifying project with funds that have originated from lawful sources,” says Shai.

Here are some reasons why the EB-5 program is popular:

  • The EB-5 program provides a direct and secure pathway to obtaining U.S. residency. After several years of living in the United States, U.S. permanent residents can apply for citizenship and thereby obtain their U.S. passport.
  • The program allows investors to benefit from a passive investment, meaning that applicants are not required to be involved in the day-to-day management or operations of the project in which they have invested.
  • Children can access quality education in the United States. Green Card holders benefit from higher chances of acceptance into U.S. universities, lower tuition rates, and better internship and job opportunities.
  • By living in the United States, residents have access to top healthcare.
  • Upon filing their EB-5 applications, investors can immediately live, work, and travel in the United States through the process of concurrent filing. Applicants are no longer required to wait to receive their U.S. Green Cards prior to beginning their lives in the United States. Through concurrent filing, investors and their family members can receive work and travel authorization while their EB-5 applications are pending.
  • Unlike the H-1B visa, the EB-5 program does not impose employment restrictions on the investor. EB-5 applicants and their family members can live and work in the United States after obtaining the U.S. Green Card or during the adjudication process through concurrent filing.
  • The EB-5 program does not require sponsorship from an employer. Many other visa categories such as the H-1B visa require employer sponsorship, meaning that the immigration status of H-1B visa holders is linked to their employment status.

In addition to the above, there are many other reasons why the EB-5 program is popular among residents of the United Arab Emirates and surrounding countries. To learn more about the EB-5 program, its benefits, and requirements, you can attend the complimentary seminar of The American Legal Center.
