There is no denying the fact that Beyonce is a hugely successful singer whose fame straddles the planet, as can be seen from the frenzy over her global concert tour Renaissance which kicked off in Stockholm a little over a week ago.

The former member of Destiny’s Child, formed a little over three decades ago, has been an incredible solo success, with a net worth of nearly half a billion dollars.

Her husband Jay-Z is reportedly worth $2.5 billion. No wonder they forked out $200 million for California’s most expensive home.

It is a 30,000 square-foot waterfront mansion in Malibu, California.

The house is situated in an area overlooking the Pacific Ocean known as Billionaires’ Row, and its purchase beats the previous record of $177 set two years ago.

The all-concrete house was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, and was originally listed for $295m, according to the Independent.

Interestingly, the California mansion was reportedly built and previously owned by Bill Bell Jr, an art collector and son of the creators of soap operas Bold and Beautiful and The Young and the Restless.
It is believed to have six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Twitterati were critical of the purchase, with one user saying, “The wealthy exhaust me,” while another said: “No person in normal society should have so much wealth.”

“I’m too broke to have an opinion,” someone else joked.
