Make a Wish Foundation fulfils desires of 23 children in Jordan

It was a happy moment for the children.

Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, attended an event at King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman, Jordan, where the wishes of 23 children were fulfilled. The event was held on the sidelines of her participation in the 77th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs which was organised by the Social Affairs Sector of the Arab League and hosted by Jordan for two days (19 and 20 October 2022).

The event was attended by Hamdan Al Kaabi, Member of the Board of Trustees of Make A Wish Foundation, Hani Al Zubaidi, Chief Executive Officer, Noha Al Shorbagi, Project Manager at the Foundation and the accompanying delegation of the Minister.

The event was also attended by Dr. Eyad Sultan, Head of Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Department at King Hussein Cancer Centre, Dr. Hassan Hashem, Oncology-Haematology Consultant and Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Consultant at King Hussein Cancer Centre, Mrs. Madeleine Al Salaq, Chair of Local Development Programmes and Partnerships, and the team of King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Centre.

The event included several activities such as performances and story-telling, distribution of latest various electronic devices, handed over by the UAE Minister of Community Development to the children and fulfil their wishes. Commemorative photos of this ceremony were also taken bringing wonderful moments of joy and happiness for the sick children and their families.

Mr. Hani Al-Zubaidi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Her Excellency the UAE Minister of Community Development for attending the Make a Wish Ceremony in Amman-Jordan and her continuous support for the various events and initiatives of the Foundation as well as keenness to highlight the UAE's noble humanitarian efforts in spreading happiness and hope inside and outside the country.

 The joy on the face of this child cannot be fathomed.

Al-Zubaidi also thanked King Hussein Cancer Centre for their constant collaboration and great efforts to the treatment of these children and revive the feelings of hope and optimism in their hearts and with their families. Ms. Madeleine Al-Salaq also thanked Hessa Bint Essa Buhumaid and the team of Make-A-Wish Foundation in the UAE for their continuous support to achieve the wishes of the children at King Hussein Cancer Centre in Jordan for 9 consecutive years.

Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organisation that helps fulfil the wishes of children with a critical illness threatening their lives. Licensed by the UAE Ministry of Community Development, the Foundation is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. Make a Wish Foundation fulfilled the wishes of more than 5,700 sick children inside and outside the UAE suffering from serious illnesses, without distinction in gender, language, religion or belief.
