In many households across the world pets do share a special place and every family feels proud of their lovely and loyal 'friends.'

Families with pets do go an extra mile to make their four-legged companions feel at home. They take them for walk, eat and sleep with them.

But an American college student has done more than people usually do with their pets, she studied with her cat and graduated with her.

Sounds crazy but true, Francisca Bordier, who graduated from the University of Texas, received the degree along with her pet cat.

According to media reports, Francesca also took her cat 'Sookie' to the university graduation ceremony.

Explaining the reason, Francisca said that her cat Sookie attended all the online classes with her so in a way she also graduated with her.

On her Instagram Francesca shared photos of herself and Sookie, both wearing a graduation gown and cap after the graduation ceremony.

"My cat has participated in every Zoom lecture, we will both graduate from the University of Texas together,"she wrote in the caption with the photo.

Talking to foreign media, Francisca said that due to Corona epidemic, she completed most of her college education online from home.

"Whenever I used to attend a zoom lecture, my cat would come and sit till the end of the lecture," she said.

She said that seeing Sookie's dedication all through the course, she decided to take Sookie to the graduation ceremony.
