In this current age of Apartments and townhouses and build communities, building a house as per your desires and needs and that too a Vaastu house as per traditional rules is something nobody thinks about and bothers about. What matters to most people is:

  1. A house in their name – can be apartment or house
  2. It should be near all amenities like – shopping malls, transport friendly, near school / college/ office.
  3. Safety and security
  4. Availability of help as and when required
  5. Should be within the budget they have
  6. Land could be as per availability or inherited

Besides all this, most people never bother about getting a good consultant/architect to plan and design the house. Mostly it is contractor who takes care of this and also sourcing the materials and getting the people to work at the site as per their convenience and their monetary benefit.

Being in Dubai, it is even worse situation as most of the time the owner sees the house only after completion and all they do is disperse the money.

Here I am studying traditional Vastu, on how to build a house as per traditional Vaastu principles as given by traditional Sthapati’s (traditional Architects). My dream is to build a Vaastu house or at least a Grabha (home temple). Want to know why this dream? To live in Harmony with this world and also to be able to do what I want without any stress or obstacles in complete contentment.

How to live in Harmony

Fact 1 - The whole universe is filled with Vibrations and this has been proved by science and can be seen with the use of Radios, TVs and the mobile phones. Every building has a resonance or vibrations of its own based on the materials used, the dimensions of the buildings, the placement of windows and doors in the building. Similarly every person has their own vibrations.

Fact 2 – the vibrations of different things get synchronised. This is proved by synchronisation of Tuning forks and of pendulum. The frequencies of both resonate together.

If we build a house that has good vibrations for peace, prosperity, health, good relationships, health, progress and success with a frequency that matches your vibrations. When we stay in such a house our resonance will match that of the house giving us the qualities of the house. Isn’t this wonderful? BUT, is this possible.

Traditional Vaastu House - Background

A fact remains that in the earlier times before modern architecture and civil engineering days, most of the houses in almost all over the world had some principles of building and they were known to the traditional people who construct houses. I am from Kerala, India and I can talk about this fact as my ancestral house both from my mothers side and fathers side were build as per Vaastu. I have seen this in my neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu too. One of the first awareness of Vaastu to me was from my father, when he spoke of how after a modification made to our ancestral home, someone or other was always sick at home and the family started facing financial issues. When a pillar and roof was added to the house to make a patio. The energies of the house shifted and positive changes started for the family.

My interest in Vaastu led me to learn about Fengshui and current practices of Vastu, energies of home and to learn the knowledge from traditional source at American University of Mayonic Science and technology with Dr. Jessie Mercay, a direct student of Dr. V. Ganapathi Sthapati, a traditional Vaastu architecture and sculptor, teacher of same, author of many books for traditional architecture and  Padma Vibhushan recipient and founder of Vastu Vedic trust. He had asked Dr. Jessie to start the school and be the chancellor for the school and bring this traditional knowledge to all in the world.

Principles of Traditional Vastu House

“When inner space and outer space resonate together in harmony then peacefulness, vitality, health, prosperity and dynamic ecstatic creativity become the natural order and effortless experience.”  ~ Mamuni Mayan

How to build a traditional Vastu house that resonate with positive energy for all? Dr. V. Ganapathi Sthapati has taught this knowledge to many and this knowledge is based on the teachings of ancient Architect and builder Mayamunni. These principles of building a house, temple, townhall or town was handed over for many generations from the Father to son/disciple and was kept as a well-guarded secret till Dr. Ganapathy Stathpati took it upon himself to spread and teach this knowledge to all who were interested. The main principles to build a house that will vibrate with positive energy requires to following:

  1. Site selection
  2. Orientation
  3. Right shape of the building and rooms
  4. A set of Mathematical formula to match the vibrations of the owner
  5. Room placement for the required activity and for the right person
  6. Proper placement of doors and windows in the house and at the boundary wall.
  7. Proper arrangement for electricity, water & sewage.
  8. Boundary wall and out houses at right areas including the Garage
  9. Proper dimensions of the rooms, walls and height of the building.
  10. Choice of right materials for the house construction

Using these principles, we can construct a Vaastu house that will resonate with positive energy and this has been proved by the many houses and mini temples built by Dr. Ganapathi and Dr. Jessie Mercay.

My endeavour is to make as many people as possible aware of this great science of Building so we bring back the peace and contentment our ancestors had.
