Apple’s wooden computer made in 1976 sold for $400,000

An Apple -1 wooden computer, the first computer made by Apple in 1976, was sold at an auction for $400,000.
It is said there are only a few dozens of this version in the world.
This version was valued at John Moran's Auction at Monrovia, near Los Angeles, between $400,000 and $600,000.
The company founded by Steve Fozniak and Steve Jobs produced only 200 Apple-1 computers, all were collected manually and mostly sold at that time for $666.66.
The Apple-1, which was still valid for work, was sold at $900,000, in an auction hosted by Bunhamz.
“There are only 60 Apple-1, but 20 of them, including the one sold at John Moran’s auction, are still valid for work," expert Kori Kohen told Los Angeles Times.
The Apple-1 is considered as a distinguished version because it is made of Alkwa wood from the Hawaiian Islands. It is one of only six computers having this type of wood in their composition, according to the auctions booklet.
