Chinese who didn’t want to break grandmother’s heart, hires woman to imitate her dead mum for 13 years

A woman from the Chinese city of Xi'an, known as Chen Jing, did her best for 13 years to make her grandmother believe that her mother was still alive.

Chen didn't want to break her grandmother's heart, so she lied to her all this time with the help of a partner she had hired, to imitate her dead mother's voice.

Chen’s mother died in 2003 of lung cancer, but she knew that this sad news would destroy her grandmother, so she hired a woman to imitate her mother's voice over the phone and moreover recorded voice messages and asked her children to make her grandmother hear them.

It was learnt that Chen’s mother, Cheng Congrong, and her grandmother were very close to each other.

Even after developing lung cancer in 2003, Cheng called her mother to let her know she is doing fine.She knew that she would not survive.

Cheng voice was played through a speakers, recorded over different seasons. In one recording, Cheng could be heard complaining about the cold, therefore reminding her mother to take medicines.

The recordings were often played to advice the grandmother.

Chen did so for 13 years without telling her grandmother about the death of her mother.

It is worth mentioning that the grandmother recently passed away at the age of 100.
