Sharjah Ladies Club and its ten branches holding Spring Adventure Camps 2021

The Spring Adventure Camps 2021 includes yoga, swimming, ice skating, and much more.

Sharjah Ladies Club and its ten branches in the central and eastern regions of the Emirate of Sharjah are holding their annual Spring Camp, taking every health and safety measure possible in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Between March 28th and April 8th, boys aged 4-11 and girls aged 7-18 can take part in a range of fun and educational activities, both virtually and physically.

The main club camp activities are being hosted physically at two locations, the Collage Talent Centre and the Sports Complex. This year, the camp is focusing on developing children’s skills and introducing them to a wide range of new hobbies, with the aim of broadening their minds and teaching them in a fun and mentally stimulating way. For those attending the physical events, there will be activities including yoga, swimming, ice skating, paddle boarding, tennis and beach volleyball, all supervised by trained coaches.

Meanwhile, all the club branches are also hosting physical and virtual activities at the Ibdaa Talent Centre, Layaqa Fitness Centre and Marasi Restaurant, with a diverse range of creative classes to be enjoyed. This includes DIY flower making and backpack making, sketching, pottery, decorative arts, make your own puppets and drawing with chalk. On the more practical side, science experiments, nature exploration and learning about recycling are also on the agenda, as are workshops such as those on the Spring garden and classes from the Cable Art workshop.

Speaking about the Spring Camp, the Director General of Sharjah Ladies Club, Khawla al-Serkal, said: “Sharjah Ladies Club always makes sure we have seasonal camps ready to go during the school breaks, to keep our children entertained and help them learn during school breaks. Our aim is to keep children of all ages mentally and physically stimulated, by encouraging them to take the initiative and develop a real hunger for knowledge.

“We use interesting teaching methods which help kids discover talents they never knew they had. Our trained instructors build their skillsets, teach them about responsibilities, allow them to be as creative as possible and help them unlock their full potential. To do that, we ensure each class is tailored to the correct age group and try to stretch them and broaden their understanding of the world.”

“There is also an incredibly important social side to the Spring Adventures Camp, and it’s a great opportunity for children to make meaningful friendships and enhance their social intelligence and communication skills.”

“This year, we also have to consider COVID-19 regulations, and I want to assure all parents that we are taking the maximum safety precautions to protect the health and wellbeing of their children. We hope these classes will give them some sense of normalcy after this challenging year.”
