An unusual, rare bright yellow version of the albino Indian flapshell turtle was spotted and rescued from a pond in Burdwan, West Bengal.
The glossy turtle looks more like an egg yolk.
The peculiar yellow colour may be because of either some genetic mutation or congenital disorder due to the absence of tyrosine pigment.
While it’s not something you see every day, people were amazed because of its color, hilariously comparing it to cheese and mango jelly.
Earlier a similar coloured flapshells was found in Balasore, Odisha.
