Modi’s message should be taken positively

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message of inclusion – ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, win Sabka Vishwas’ – should be taken positively and received by all for a better India.  However, the unfortunate incidents of harassment of minorities, puts into question the integrity of this tagline and in a broader sense has inadvertently raised concerns among the common people.

The message of inclusion is for all, and so, especially the minority communities, must take it positively and see how it works in terms of safeguarding their fundamental rights.  Perceptions among the minorities must change and ministers holding various portfolios must ensure that their coordinated effort helps in bringing peace and stability for everyone.

The country’s secular image portrays a lot for not only Indians, but also sends a message to people in the other parts of the world. Nothing can be achieved by vengeance, but serious debates can help democracy thrive and become more powerful. Whatever changes India wants to make, it should be done within the constitutional framework and should not hurt the sentiments of citizen.
