Arseni Volkov sculpts the past with chisel of present and Muse of future

Among his most celebrated creations is the Lumo Classic collection — an exclusive series of collectible Art Toys produced in polyurethane. Each sculpture is presented in a handcrafted natural wood display case, featuring integrated LED illumination and remote-controlled lighting, transforming them into an elegant museum-quality presentation piece. Alongside his contemporary creations, Volkov has earned recognition for his bronze sculptures, inspired by the great warrior civilisations of history. His celebrated collection includes the Spartan Helmet, Viking Helmet, Samurai Helmet, as well as full sculptural compositions such as The Spartan with Spear, The Spartan on Horseback, and The Samurai. The sculpture, Spartacus, is one of his works from the series Warriors. The piece is made of bronze, using patination and hand polishing. Throughout all ages, the image of the Spartan warrior has symbolised courage, honour, dignity, fearlessness, and self-sacrifice for a higher purpose. The clothing and equipment of the Spartan warrior itself worked to his advantage. It allowed the soldier to feel more confident and powerful. It complemented his invincible image and was something that marched ahead of the Spartan army itself.

It is precisely this image of the Spartan warrior — strong, courageous, and invincible — that Volkov succeeds in conveying in his work.
