The halls of Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah came alive with colour, imagination and youthful energy on the occasion of HAMDS Dreamline Events & Gallery hosting the Young Creative Minds Art Competition & Workshop 2025 (Oct. 23). It was a celebration of creativity and culture that brought together more than 100 young artists from across the United Arab Emirates on one platform.
Under the theme ‘My Country, My Culture’, this year’s competition aimed to inspire children to explore their roots, express their individuality, and celebrate diversity through art. The event was a testament to HAMDS Dreamline’s ongoing mission to nurture young talent, encourage cultural appreciation and promote creative confidence, in the next generation.
Students from some of the UAE’s leading educational institutions including Woodlem British School, Deira Private School, ZAQ International Academy, PACE International School and Manthena American School, took part in the event, presenting artworks that reflected the rich traditions, values, and landscapes of the homelands of the artists.

From intricate drawings of national landmarks to imaginative depictions of unity and heritage, each creation told a story with pride, sense of belonging, and sincere creativity. The competition was not merely a contest of skill but a stage for young minds to express emotions, ideas and dreams, through vivid colours and imaginative brushstrokes.
The organisers emphasised that the event was designed to reach a level beyond competition; it had to serve as a celebration of creativity, connection and confidence, among children of diverse backgrounds. The occasion was graced by Khalid Hussain Chowdhury, President of Pakistan Social Centre Sharjah, who was honoured as the Chief Guest. In his address, he commended the initiative and emphasised the importance of supporting art and culture as powerful tools for youth development.

Adding further prestige to the occasion were Guests of Honour, including Ahmed Al Awadi Rukni, Abdulah Jaffali, Syed Ayaz Naimuddin, Mona Hussein Ali, Nibras Salman, Mehreen Sultana, Usma Sultana, Anisah Shaikh, Viladamir Venerova, and Mazen Arabi. Young artists were happy to receive appreciation and encouragement from these respected personalities.
The event was organised under the leadership of Saima Furqan, Founder & CEO of HAMDS Dreamline Events & Gallery, and Bushra Furqan, Co-Founder and Director, supported by team members Tahseen Badar, Maqsood Kayani, Muhammad Hamdaan, Avigyan Bhattacharya and Maliha Zaidi. Together, they transformed a concept into a community-wide celebration of art and aesthetics.
The initiative aligned with HAMDS Dreamline’s broader vision, which is to create meaningful opportunities for young artists to express themselves and gain confidence through art, while also encouraging schools and parents to recognise the importance of creative education for personal growth and cultural connection.

Saima Furqan said that “our vision is to nurture creativity from a young age and give children the confidence to express their ideas through art. When we bring them together on one platform, celebrating culture, colour and imagination, we not only inspire young minds, but also strengthen the bonds of our diverse community.”
Her message encapsulated the spirit of the event, using art as a bridge between people, cultures, and generations. Running parallel to the competition was a special Artists’ Exhibition of established artists, curated to further motivate and inspire the young participants. Recognised artists including Maqsood Kayani, Saima Furqan, Faiza Gondal, Muhammad Hamdan, Muhammad Samir, Natalia Venerova, Anam Sultana and Bushra Furqan showcased their artworks, offering students a rare opportunity to experience professional artistry up close.
This exhibition turned into an open classroom of inspiration. Young participants observed the techniques, themes and depth behind the works of experienced artists, gaining valuable insights into the world of creative expression. One parent said that “events like this give our children confidence and direction. They return home inspired, more curious, and more determined to pursue their creative passions.” The occasion also saw the contributions of community partners and sponsors.

Adding a memorable touch, Viladamir distributed free ice cream tokens to children, while Mazen Arabi offered words of motivation, emphasising the necessity of perseverance in the creative journey of every young artist. Each young adult who participated in the Young Creative Minds Art Competition & Workshop 2025 was recognised and honoured.
They received medals, certificates, and goodie bags. It was a token of appreciation not only for their artistic skill but also their enthusiasm, effort, and positive spirit. The event ended with a statement of thanks to all participants, schools, parents and supporting organisations, whose collaboration turned a concept into a living reality.
