His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Department of Culture to organise periodic poetry gatherings in Africa.

Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, stated that the initiative of the Ruler of Sharjah is due to his care for the Arabic language and literature.

After the Sharjah Forum for Young Poets, the Poetry Houses initiative, and the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity, the department will start implementing the second phase of this initiative starting next June.
