Kailia Posey, the star of TV show “Toddlers and Tiaras,” died at the age of 16, as her mother, Marcy Posey Gatterman, confirmed her death through a post on her Facebook page.

Marcy wrote on Facebook, "I don't have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone."

"Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever."

The teen gained fame after a gif of her "Smiling Girl" went viral, and the Whatcom County Medical Examiner's Office told CNN that Posey's cause of death was "suicide."

Her family said that she was a brilliant girl with a bright future ahead, academically and socially successful and in good condition, but unfortunately, in a reckless moment, she made a reckless decision to end her life by hanging.

April Hatton, whose daughter Kayla appeared with Posey on the show, paid tribute to her online, "Still trying to wrap my head around what I woke up to this morning and what I have been reading throughout my feed! So much love for this girl is an understatement!

Kailia was 5-year-old when she appeared on TLC’s popular series “Toddlers & Tiaras” in 2012.

Since her death, the mother has changed her profile picture to a stunning photo of her daughter wearing a white gown, with white angel wings and a halo photoshopped in.

Her cover photo is a similar image of Kayla wearing a white gown while wearing a striking pageant crown and overlaid with the words “Fly High Kailia,” according to Hollywood Life.
