Lata was admitted to the hospital on Jan.9 following various health issues, including Covid-19.

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's health condition deteriorated again on Saturday, prompting the doctors to put her back on ventilator support after 10 days.

Medicos attending on her have indicated that the 92-year-old Lata — who was taken off the ventilator on Jan.27 — is again responding to her ongoing treatment at the Breach Candy Hospital.

The entire Mangeshkar clan, including Asha Bhosale, Usha Mangeskar, sole brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar and other family members are present at the hospital.

A string of VVIPs, including Rashmi Thackeray, the wife of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray, film personalities like Madhur Bhandarkar, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, BJP leader MP Lodha, and others visited the hospital to enquire after her health.

Lata was admitted to the hospital on Jan.9 following various health issues, including COVID-19, and has remained there for the past nearly four weeks.

Raj Thackeray said that he went specially to discuss with the medical teams treating her at the hospital and dispel rumour mongering that has been rampant since this afternoon.

The Mumbai police have deployed additional security around the hospital in south Mumbai to control the anxious crowds comprising the singer's fans and well-wishers attempting to reach there.

In 2019, Lata had to be rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai when she complained of breathing problem.

The iconic singer became a recipent of India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2001. She has recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages.

Born on Sept.28, 1929, she has also been honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award and France's highest civilian award, Officer of the Legion of Honour, besides numerous national and international awards.

In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in the history. She had reportedly sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974.

Mangeshkar, has been active on social media despite her advancing age. Her contribution to Indian music industry in a career spanning seven decades has gained her honorific titles such as the Nightingale of India and Queen of Melody.

Lata has recorded songs in over 36 Indian languages and few foreign languages, though primarily in Hindi and Marathi. She has received several accolades and honors throughout her career.
