Musicians regale participants of UAE celebrations in Sharjah

Sharjah National Day Celebrations Committee concluded the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebration in Sharjah at Al Majaz Theater, on December 3, with fireworks and a song by Hussain Al Jassmi.

A number of musicians, including Hussain Al Jassmi, Faisal Al Jassim, Almas, and Mohammed Al Menhali, gave a live show on Friday.

The artists congratulated the wise leadership and the UAE citizens on the Golden Jubilee and the UAE's global achievements in various fields.

The evening was attended by a huge crowd, and its profits went to The Big Heart Foundation, to help the refugees and the needy around the world.

First-ever Sharjah events festival

Sharjah Events, an initiative of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), has announced the first edition of the Sharjah Events Festival, slated to take place on December 10 – 11, in the Al Majaz Amphitheatre.

Carrying the slogan, #See_Sharjah, the two-day event is free to attend and targets all members of the UAE community through its exciting and diverse programing agenda featuring entertainment, folk shows, music, sports, art and craft, and competitions, among others. 25 public and private entities in Sharjah will be participating in the event which will be held from 4pm-11pm on Friday and 2pm-10pm on Saturday.

Sharjah Events Festival will entice cultural enthusiasts with poetry evenings and capture the interest of young visitors with an array of workshops, shows and a raffle draw.

The first day of the festival will witness the unveiling of Sharjah’s 2022 calendar of events and celebrations. Noting that the festival caters to the interests of all segments and age groups of the community, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of SGMB, said: “Sharjah’s year-round events and activities fuel the emirate’s journey of comprehensive community development, and embody the vision of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Through this first-of-it’s kind festival, we will unveil Sharjah’s cultural agenda for 2022, and at the same time, offer attendees a variety of family-friendly activities suitable for all segments of the community.”

“The festival also aims to provide networking and collaboration opportunities for participating entities along with a vibrant platform to showcase their work and activities to community. Moreover, they will be able to connect and strengthen their relationships with the public in a fun-filled environment,” Tariq Saeed Allay added.

In creating a unique opportunity for participating entities to strengthen cohesion and showcase their cultural offerings to the public, the festival is bolstering Sharjah’s efforts to continue developing its appeal as a top destination in the region for business, tourism, leisure and family-friendly activities.
