Malala Yousafzai's Twitter feed was flooded with expressions of goodwill for their marriage.

The female education activist Malala Yousafzai has tied the knot with Asser Malik, the operations manager of the High Performance Centre at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in a small nikkah ceremony at her residence in Birmingham, UK.

The 24-year-old Nobel Prize laureate took to social media to post pictures from the nikkah, calling it a "precious day in my life."

Hollywood, Bollywood superstars, politicians, journalists, singers and other famous personalities across the world have sent their heartfelt congratulations and good wishes on social media after the couple surprised all by announcing their nikkah on Tuesday night in Britain.

"Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead," she captioned alongside her photos in a peach wedding dress.

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra congratulated the Nobel laureate, re-sharing the post on her Instagram story. "Congratulations @Malala. Wishing you so much joy and happiness. You are an absolute vision (sic)!!"

Hollywood actor Reese Witherspoon also poured in love for the blushing bride “Congratulations on this wonderful moment!” “Congratulations,” wrote Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted, “ Congratulation, Malala and Asser! Sophie and I hope you enjoyed your special day — we’re wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.”

Pakistani star Zara Noor Abbas also sent love for Malala. “I am so happy for you. Congratulations to you sweetheart. ”Social media influencer Dananeer Mobeen wrote, “OMG MASHAALLAH! Congratulations.” Singer Meesha Shafi wrote, “Buhat buhat Mubarik (many many congratulations) @malala.” Actor Adnan Malik added, “Beautiful! Love & blessings to both of you.”

Malala's husband, Malik's Linkedin profile says that he is an entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the sports industry. "Designed player development programme for Multan Sultans. Currently serving as General Manager High Performance at the Pakistan Cricket Board," says Malik's Linkedin profile.

Pakistani politicians Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Sehar Kamran, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Maleeha lodhi, Nafisa Shah, Krishna Kumari and others sent congratulatory messages on Malala’s Twitter post.

Britain politicians Sajid Javid, Sayeeda Warsi, Nick Gibb, Penny Mordaunt and Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea Clinton also wished Malala on her marriage. 

There were some international celebrities like Jemima Khan, former wife of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina J Mohammed, Rachel Zegler in the mix as well, who congratulated Malala.
