Mexican actress Lyn May is about to break a Guinness World Record, after she announced she was pregnant with the child of her 29-year-old husband, musician Markos D1, according to foreign media.

The Mexican actress revealed her pregnancy in a post on Instagram, where she wrote in Spanish, "I am very happy to announce that I am three months pregnant and Markos is very happy that he will be a father."

The news was accompanied by several pictures of her with her partner.

The news came as a shock to thousands of followers of the 68-year-old Mexican actress.

The pair is known as a musician, model and entrepreneur in the beauty industry.

In the event that May's full term pregnancy ends smoothly, she will break the Guinness Records for the oldest woman to give birth.

Previously a 67-year-old Spaniard held the record after she managed to give birth to twins by Caesarean section in Spain in 2006.

May is known as a Mexican actress and showgirl, of Chinese descent, after her father immigrated to Guerrero, Mexico.

She rose to fame in the 1970s, starring in more than 100 films.
