Veteran Egyptian actor Dalal Abdel Aziz passes away at 61

The great Egyptian artist, Dalal Abdel Aziz passed away, local media reported on Saturday.

The actor was suffering from COVID-19 for a long time. She was 61.

Her husband, actor and celebrated comedian Samir Ghanem, also passed away due to COVID-related complications in May.

Dalal could not live with the death of her beloved husband Samir, so she followed him to heaven, TV journalist Ramy Radwan wrote on Twitter.

Ramy is married to Donia, the eldest daughter of Dalal.

Egyptian social media and Arab celebrities lamented the death of the actor.

Many called her the kindest person they have ever met.

Ghanem family made all its effort to hide the death of Samir as she would be shocked to known.

Radwan explained that Dalal Abdulaziz did not know anything, stressing that the family made a great effort to hide the matter from her, and they pulled the phone from her and disconnected the TV inside the intensive care.

The Egyptian artist was born in the city of Zagazig, Sharkia Governorate in 1960, and joined the Faculty of Agriculture in the same city, and at the same time, she presented her first roles on the screen after her success in high school drams.

She participated with the artist Nour El-Demerdash and the ideal mother of Egyptian art Karima Mokhtar in the series “Bint Al-Ayam” in 1977.

She married Samir Ghanem in 1984.

Dalal Abdel Aziz had many youth roles in cinema, theatre and some television works in the eighties and nineties, but her transformation into the roles of wife and mother was one of the most successful decisions in her career.

Dalalis survived by her two daughters, Donia and Emmy. Both are successful actresses.
