Civilians share their stories of horror and grief as the deadly days of violence in Gaza finally gave them a breather.

After 11 violent days in Gaza, a ceasefire was announced giving civilians some time to gather themselves back.

Palestinian artist Etaf al-Najili took this opportunity of the ceasefire that was announced to use the broken walls of Gaza as her canvas.

The young and beautiful artist paints the Al-Aqsa Mosque's Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem on a damaged building in Gaza City.

The 28-year-old also painted the Palestinian flag on faces of little children playing around the damaged city.

Which makes it safe to say that she uses all things broken in Gaza as her canvas.

The dome of the Al Aqsa mosque is one of the three holiest sites in Islam.

Using her paintbrush as a weapon to fight injustice and revive hope in the hearts of the Palestinians, who tirelessly fight for their rights, Al-Najili paints the broken walls of a building with absolute confidence.

The young artist dreams of continuing her work so  she can set up an exhibition that goes beyond the borders of Gaza.
