Actor Hugh Grant undoubtedly has a boyish charm and an inimitable British humour that is so intrinsic to his personality and carries a lot of appeal. Witness Four Weddings and a Funeral and Notting Hill and you can get the drift. Especially when he appears all too gauche in front of his lady love. Now the once chocolate-faced hero has undergone a total drastic makeover: he has been cast as the villain in the forthcoming Dungeons and Dragons film adaptation.

The Undoing star will play Forge Fletcher, the primary antagonist in the big-budget remake of the popular table-top game, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sophia Lillis, the 19-year-old actor best known for her work on I Am Not Okay With This and the It films, has also joined the cast as Doric.

Last month, it was reported that Bridgerton break-out star Rege-Jean Page had been cast in a leading role in the film.

Other cast members on the project, which is being produced by Paramount, include Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith.

Based on the hugely popular fantasy role-playing game of the same name, the Dungeons and Dragons movie has been described as a subversive take on the game and will feature a large ensemble cast, according to the Independent.

It will be directed by Game Night’s Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, who also wrote the latest version of the script, with filming scheduled to begin this year in Belfast.
