Tamil actor and superstar Rajinikanth, who is one of the biggest film stars in the South Indian film fraternity, was admitted to a hospital over fluctuations in blood pressure complaints. The 70-year-old actor is being monitored carefully at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad.

Accompanied by his daughter, the actor-politicians is recuperating and might leave the Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad later in the day or early on Sunday, Kollywood sources said on Saturday.

The discharge would be decided if a fresh round of medical tests done this morning are found satisfactory, they said, quoting doctors. His health is said to be stable as of Saturday morning.

Rajni, 70, who was filming his latest venture at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad since Dec.14, was hospitalised on Friday following “severe fluctuations” in his blood pressure.

The shoot of “Annathe” was cancelled earlier this week after four members of the crew tested positive for COVID-19. Rajni and his actor Nayanthara were also tested, but both were negative.
