Turkish actor Cavit Çetin Güner, who portrays the role of Dogan Alp in historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul arrived in Islamabad on Wednesday morning, according to a section of Pakistani media.

Guner turned to Instagram and shared a short video clip of Pakistani folk music and wrote, “Good morning, Islamabad, Pakistan.”

Earlier, Güner shared the exciting news on social media, taking to Instagram stories to post a picture of his boarding pass.

The Turkish-made series has earned praise for its focus on historical figures from the Muslim world who have been framed as role models for Pakistani youths, and the Urdu-language version of the show has racked up more than 240 million views on YouTube alone.

Resurrection: Ertugrul has gripped audiences with its daring protagonist, cliffhangers and high production values since it began broadcasting on the first day of the Islamic holy month.

Leading actor Engin Altan Duzyatan has also confirmed his much-awaited visit to Pakistan.

Turkey’s state-run news agency Anadolu quoting Frontiers World, a London-based events management outfit, reported that Altan aka Ertugrul will be visiting Pakistan in October.
