Katy Perry has defended her decision to publicly side with Ellen DeGeneres in a tweet.

The singer explained the move in a new interview.

“I started that tweet off not undermining anyone else’s experience,” Perry told.

“I wanted to only speak from my own experience. I have over 100m people that follow me on Twitter, so not everyone is going to agree with me. And I’m not here to make everyone agree with me.”

Perry was one of several A-listers who shared their support for DeGeneres amid an internal investigation into allegations that The Ellen DeGeneres Show is a toxic work environment.

DeGeneres isn’t personally a subject of the probe, a source previously told.
